One of the biggest and most popular resorts of winter sports is situated 15 km from the town Liptovský Mikuláš in the National Park Nizke Tatry on nothern slopes of the mountain Chopok. There are excellent routes for downhill skiing as well as a number of variously demanding crosscountry skiing tracks. Supporters of ski-alpinism can enjoy themselves very well here.
Chopok (2024 m)
Northern and southern slopes of Chopok, the second highest peak of the main ridge of the Low Tatras, are the best ski terrains in Slovakia You can be driven to Chopok by a chair lift. Chopok is suitable for short walks as well as for demanding hikes along the ridge. A wide view of the surroundings is open to its visitors from its two summits.
